01 About
I'm a platform engineer who has worked as a developer, automation tester, team lead and product owner on agile projects — I enjoy being part of a collective and pulling everyone toward a common goal. Across on-premise and cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD and IaC, the common thread has always been the same: build something reliable, then keep making it better.
I started out in tech as an automation tester and grew from there into infrastructure and platform roles, picking up a fairly broad toolbox of cloud, containers and automation experience along the way. I'm happiest dealing with new challenges and building something I can be genuinely proud of.
Outside of work I'm usually at 5-a-side battling the Scottish weather, or listening to music.

DevOps Engineer · Barclays
- Designed ephemeral environment testing on AWS CloudFormation and Lambda, giving teams disposable, on-demand infrastructure to validate changes in isolation.
- Built deployment templates using the Go Task library to standardise how services are shipped.
- Built a patching pipeline to systematically deprecate and remediate technical debt.
- Guided and supported teams through Agent Core deployments.

Platform Engineer · Capgemini, Glasgow
- Led a team migrating a Java application from on-premise to container microservices on ECS, EKS and Lambda — the resulting pattern was standardised and rolled out across the estate.
- Designed and built blue/green CI/CD pipelines using CodeDeploy and Lambda, with tooling to automate the process further.
- Built and maintained a Terraform module catalogue (with contributing docs) for EKS clusters and worker nodes, consumed by multiple application teams.
- Assisted running kops Kubernetes clusters and troubleshot production incidents around networking and multi-tenancy, including out-of-hours fixes.
- Delivered high-blast-radius AWS infrastructure changes (VPC endpoints, EC2, ALBs) and demoed CI/CD pipelines directly to clients.

- Led delivery of a Terraform module set provisioning core AWS infrastructure (EKS, Lambda, API Gateway) for application teams.
- Built a cloud-agnostic module layer letting teams choose between EKS and GKE for the same deployment pattern.
- Supported application teams onboarding to Kubernetes for the first time, working across teams and time zones globally.
- Migrated monitoring onto a common Splunk toolchain and improved TeamCity pipeline reliability, including auto-recycling build agents on demand.
